Telly award for Goodwill ads

Goodwill Manasota earned a Bronze Telly Award for the “Reinvent Yourself” television commercial series.  With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and many foreign countries, this is truly an honor.

Three commercials in the “Reinvent Yourself” series were submitted to the Telly Awards for consideration: one shows a veteran shopping for a blazer to wear to a job interview. Another tells the story of Goodwill’s positive environmental impact through a young woman who purchases a unique chair, saving it from the landfill. The final commercial shows a young man with disabilities – an employee of Goodwill – shopping for a backpack; he brings this backpack to a Goodwill education program that helps him to earn his high school diploma.

Lindsey Nickel de la O of Nickel Communications was the producer/director on the “Reinvent Yourself” campaign for print and television.  Brad Bryan was the cinematographer and editor of the TV spots.

“One of our favorite parts of the Reinvent Yourself campaign is showcasing the breadth of Goodwill’s community impact,” said Lindsey Nickel de la O, creative director of Nickel Communications. “The TV campaign focuses on the positive effect every donation makes by changing lives through education, environmental sustainability, economic impact and job creation.”

The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

A judging panel of over 500 industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition. Entries do not compete against each other, rather they are judged against a high standard of merit. Fewer than 10 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor. Only 25 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Bronze Telly.
